Michael (Robert De Niro), Steven (John Savage) and Nick (Christopher Walken) are three young factory workers from Pennsylvania who are called to arms to fight in Vietnam. Before they go, Steven marries the pregnant Angela (Rutanya Alda), and their wedding party at the same time is the farewell party of the three boys. After fighting for a while in the war, they are caught by the Vietcong and are put in a camp in which they are forced to play Russian roulette play against each other.
