76 before Christ. Spartacus is sold as a slave to Lentulus Batiatus. He is the rich owner of a school for gladiators in Capua. According to the tradition Spartacus gets a companion assigned. This is Virinia. This girl is coming from Brittany. On his way to Rome general Marcus Licinius Crassus want to divert his companions with a fighting between gladiators. Spartacus is 'chosen' and gets the African giant Draba as opponent. But Draba suddenly gets beside himself and rush down on the spectators. Crassus must kill him. Some time later Spartacus sees the chance of setting up a gladiator revolt. He now forms a straight threat to the Roman government...
