Gazillion Movies Review :
Manic is about a group young people on the youth department of a psychiatric hospital in California. Lyle has beaten someone up at school with a baseball bat and does not have his anger attacks under control. On the department, which is especially populated by emotionally damaged children from rich families, Lyle initially refuses to be dragged into the psychological mine field. But when he protects a homosexual boy against the brutal departments bully, he nevertheless gets involved. Then he also gets a relation with the timid, suicidal Tracy. The group therapist Dr. Dave is straight in all his goodness, what turns him into a laughingstock, but also into a stable father figure for the group. He doesn’t expect total recovery of his pupils, but is satisfied when they see their own problems and realize that they can be helped.
