1994, New York. Hit man Léon (Jean Reno) got the assignment to dismantle a drug network. He observes the coming and going of the inhabitants of a building. On Léon’s floor lives a family of which the father is a drug trafficker. The man is killed by a certain Stansfield (Gary Oldman), a shady police officer who returns the next day to kill the rest of the family. Only the 12-year-old Mathilda (Natalie Portman) can escape. Léon takes Mathilda under his protection. The little girl is resolved to take revenge and learns the tricks of the trade of Léon.
