When the brother of a scientist suddenly disappears, this scientist (Brendan Fraser), his nephew (Josh Hutcherson) and a guide (Anita Briem) decide to go in search for the scientist's brother. The threesome arrives in a special, but also a dangerous lost world, somewhere in the middle of the Earth.
