Claire Cooper's (Annette Bening) peaceful family life takes a horrible twist when a mysterious serial killer (Robert Downey Jr.) penetrates her apparently idyllic city in New England. He haunts in her dreams with dark clues about his following deadly steps. With terrifying precision, Claire predicts all events, but nevertheless nobody believes her. When her own daughter is kidnapped, she goes in search for the serial killer.
