Gazillion Movies Review :
Effie White (Jennifer Hudson), Deena Jones (Beyoncé Knowles), and Lorrell Robinson (Anika Noni Rose), three friends from Chicago, form trio The Dreamettes. They travel to New York with their songwriter C.C. White (Keith Robinson) to enter a talent scouting in the Apollo Theatre. Despite the fact that they lose the contest it appears that, the ambitious manager Curtis Taylor Jr. (Jamie Foxx) is interested in them. Curtis turns The Dreamettes into a famous trio in the 'pop music scene'. Lead singer Effie is replaced by the more attractive Deena and finally put out of the trio. The name The Dreamettes is turned into The Dreams, they use a smoother sound and a fancy look and they become world-famous. However, money and the fame do not only bring luck.
