Gazillion Movies Review :
La Rochelle, France, autumn 1941.50 men get entirely drunk and make a lot of fun in a French nightclub. For them this possibly is the last chance to do it, since they will go aboard the German submarine U-96 the following morning and starts with a dangerous and long travel at sea, destination: secret. Aim: sink as much as possible hostile ships. As the U-96 approaches the big sea, boredom increases drastically. It seems for a long time as if the U-96 does not going to have a part of the action, until the hostile ships appear. Then the boredom of the men is turned into fear, sweat and homesickness to the home front. Of the 40,000 men who were sent on U-boats in the Second World War, 30,000 didn’t return...
