Gazillion Movies Review :
It is 1964. The Eastern-European Selma (Björk) immigrates with her son Gene (Vladica Kostic) to America. She works day and night in a factory to maintain her son. Selma has a bad vision and has a hereditary illness which eventually will make her blind. Gene also has this illness. Selma saves her money to pay an eye operation for Gene in the future. Nevertheless Selma has joy of living. Each evening she rehearses her part of 'Maria' for the musical 'Sound or Music' in a theatre. Although she can’t see well, she also likes to go to the film. Then her girlfriend Kathy (Catherine Deneuve) frequently goes along with her to tell Selma what is shown on the screen. In the glamour world of movie and theatre Selma can leave her own live behind for a while and be happy for a moment.
