Gazillion Movies Review :
Balzac’s (Gérard Depardieu) life is characterized by three topics: loneliness, remorse and lack of love. It already started at his youth, when he was educated (read: was humiliated) by his exceptionally chilly mother. The friendly upper class lady Madame the Berney (Virna Lisi) let him experience his first love, but that experience also becomes a painful disaster.
