Rodrigo is leading a carefree life at the court of Castile. As a good friend of crown prince Sancho, the future king, he has a bright future. But when the old king Fernando dies and also crown prince Sancho is killed, Rodrigo's world collapses. For Alfonso, Sancho's brother, is becoming King and Rodrigo is banished from Castile.
