Gazillion Movies Review :
The story tells about the battle for justice of a black man in the present America. The daughter of Carl Lee (Samuel L. Jackson) is raped in a brutal way. The perpetrators are arrested but before they are convicted, Carl Lee takes justice in his own hands and shoots both perpetrators. The young lawyer Jake Brigance (Matthew McConaughey) takes the case to defend Carl Lee. That doesn't make him very popular with the local, mostly Ku-Klux-Klan minded, citizens. Out of precaution, he sends his wife and children to a safe place and together with law student Ellen Roark (Sandra Bullock) continues the lonely battle.
