Movie Plot : 1997. Hong Kong is handed over to China. The Chinese leaders promise a 50 years period 'without changes'. 2046. The reality fifty years later: people travel through time and in 2046 still nothing changes. Chow Mo Wan (Tony Leung Chiu Wai) is the only one who travels back in time. He returns to the sixties and his life then. He moves into chamber 2047, next to the chamber in the hotel with which he has a tempestuous past. Here he writes a futuristic story with the girl from 2046 in his mind. Chow meets the people who nowadays live in the hotel and some old acquaintances appear, but nothing can make the memories of his former love disappear.
