Movie Plot : Åmål is an ugly country town where nothing happens and the youngsters are bored to death. The 16-year-old lesbian Agnes (Rebecka Liljeberg) feels lonely and doesn’t succeed in building up a stable circle of friends. She herself looks up to her classmate Elin (Alexandra Dahlström) who turns the boys around her fingers, but got tired of it. Agnes’ world collapses when Elin of all people humiliates her on her birthday party to make an impression on her older sister Jessica (Erica Carlson). But Elin, who gets fascinated by Agnes’ courage, feels remorse. A slow approach between the two follows.
