Movie Plot : Ada (Holly Hunter) is a woman who cannot talk and who for quite some time lives alone with her daughter Flora (Anna Paquin). She spends hours each day with playing the piano. Then she is married off to Stewart (Sam Neill), a man who lives in New Zealand. Once arrived there with her daughter and piano, Stewart decides to sell this to a country salesman called George (Harvey Keitel). Ada is so sad because of this that she detests Stewart. George asks her to get some lessons, so she can earn her piano back. But other conditions are also with it. At first she also detests him, but gradually she starts an intimate relation with him.
