Movie Plot : China, the year 218. Zhao (Andy Lau) obeys the call to fulfill his duty as a soldier in a country that has fallen apart in three kingdoms, Wu, Shu and Wei. Rapidly his soldier’s rank increases because of his brave actions. Not long afterwards he becomes an officer, giving orders to an enormous army which must deliver the country of the notorious warlords. Zhao's heroic action, aiming at the reunion of the nation, becomes legendary. When a just crowned King decides that peace only can be reached by defeating all warlords for good, the in the meanwhile at age Zhao prepares himself for a last campaign. A campaign which brings him against the bellicose granddaughter Cao Ying (Maggie Q) of the military strategist and politician Cao Cao, who he already defeated once in a battle. The movie is based on the novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", a 600 years old book of the writer Luo Guangzhong.
