Movie Plot : In their younger days, Carter (Jeff Bridges), Vinnie (Nick Nolte) and Rosie (Sharon Stone) falsify horse races. When somebody found it out, they blackmailed him to be silent. 20 years later Carter and Rosie are married and they successfully lead a horse-breeding in Kentucky. Movie Plot : On the day that Lucas (Nick Nolte) is released from prison, where he was imprisoned for fourteen armed robberies, he gets involved in a raid, which is carried out by someone else. Perry (Martin Short) has decided to rob the local bank to be able to maintain his daughter Meg (Sarah Rowland). Movie Plot : The tough police officer Jack Cates (Nick Nolte) is the only survivor of a shoot-out. Cates gets 48 hours to find the killer and needs the aid of gangster Reggie Hammond (Eddie Murphy) to do this, who he gets out of prison for this short time. But Reggie is totally unmotivated to help and the criminal-helps-policeman and white/black situation ensures the necessary collisions between the two.
