Movie Plot : Somewhere in the late forties the lifeless body of Elizabeth Short is found in a house where there is evidence that she had been tortured some days before her dead. Two LAPD-officers are put on the case, and Bucky, one of them, discovers pretty fast that his own girlfriend had a connection with the victim. Moreover the investigation rapidly leads to corruption in the police department.

Movie Plot : 1938. Henri Young (Kevin Bacon) undertakes an attempt to escape the prison island Alcatraz, but is caught and has to spend three years in an isolation cell under miserable circumstances. The second escaped prisoner, who was also caught, could make an arrangement however and was treated fair. The day he is released from the isolation cell, he takes a spoon in the mess and kills the other one. The lawyer who is designated to him is a newbie, and doesn’t want him to go to the gas chamber. Instead he sues Alcatraz because they turned a simple robber into a killer.
