Movie Plot : In the 19th century, the French silk smuggler Herve Joncour (Michael Pitt) travels to Japan to collect his contraband. There he meets a beautiful Japanese woman at one of his traders. In spite of speaking different languages, he starts having a crush on her. In the meantime, in France, his real wife Helene (Keira Knightley) starts suspecting his secret affair.
