Movie Plot : We are in the fifties: Peter Appleton (Jim Carrey) is a script writer who just like a lot of others movie collaborators undeserved stands on the black list because of suspicion of communist sympathies. He gets involved in a strange car accident, loses his memory and arrives in a small village in California. Here he is seen as a long lost son. The witch hunters find him however and force him to testify before the senate.

Movie Plot : American astronauts are sent for a mission to a distant planet. And although their journey only will take some weeks, they win that much spatial time that they take a lead of several centuries upon the Earth. They however have to make an emergency landing on an unknown planet, in which only a few crew members survive, amongst who George Taylor (Charlton Heston). With some fear they discover the cold, unpleasant landscapes and meet a society which is totally strange to them. The monkeys on this planet entirely have taken over the role of people. When the astronauts are taken prison by the monkeys and are treated as animals, they just fully understand what is happening to them.
