Movie Plot : Lieutenant-colonel John Patterson (Val Kilmer), a young and brilliant engineer, set off to Africa in 1896. His task is to complete the railway between Mombassa and the Lake Victoria. The bridge over the Tsavori River, the most important construction work of the project, must insure the control of the ivory trade by the British Empire in Eastern-Africa and produce a decisive advantage in the fight against the French and German competitors. At the yard of Tsavori, the atmosphere is entirely spoiled, but Patterson succeeds in repairing the order. He acquires the respect of his men when he shoots a wandering lion with just one bullet. However, some days later again a lion is noticed...
