Movie Plot : The tough police officer Jack Cates (Nick Nolte) is the only survivor of a shoot-out. Cates gets 48 hours to find the killer and needs the aid of gangster Reggie Hammond (Eddie Murphy) to do this, who he gets out of prison for this short time. But Reggie is totally unmotivated to help and the criminal-helps-policeman and white/black situation ensures the necessary collisions between the two. In spite of all that, they nevertheless prove to be good partners.
