Movie Plot : A little boy (Fred Savage) has got the flu and is forced to stay in bed. His grandpa (Peter Falk) wants to read him a tale, but the boy hates reading and aspecilly people who want to read a story. But the grandpa says the book is about fights, torments, heroes, revenge, giants, villains, beautiful ladies and truth love, on which he starts reading the tale. The tale is about the dazzling princess Buttercup (Robin Wright Penn) from the fictitious country Florin. She falls in love with stableman Wesley (Cary Elwes). The young couple swears eternal loyalty to each other but then Wesley is killed during voyage at sea by a gang of pirates. Buttercup believes that she will never love someone else. Five years later she is kidnapped by a couple of gangsters hired by the dark prince Humperdinck (Chris Sarandon), who wants to make her his bride. Her old friend Wesley tries to save her. Underway he meets a swordsman and a giant, who helps him.
