Movie Plot : At the beginning of the third century, the country of Wu is penetrated by the military leader Cao Cao (Fengyi Zhang) and his soldiers. The leader of the country Wu, Sun Quan (Chen Chang), asks help from his big rival: military leader Liu Bei. In spite of the fact that Sun Quan now can stand against Cao Cao with both his army and the army of Liu Bei (Yong You), they still are in the minority and it still seems that they do not stand a chance against them. Although, a strategist of Sun Quan's army seems to have found the solution. He claims that Cao Cao’s army can not hold them off over the water, and this gives Sun Quan's army still a chance if they know how to exploit this weak spot well.

Movie Plot : 1997. Hong Kong is handed over to China. The Chinese leaders promise a 50 years period 'without changes'. 2046. The reality fifty years later: people travel through time and in 2046 still nothing changes. Chow Mo Wan (Tony Leung Chiu Wai) is the only one who travels back in time. He returns to the sixties and his life then. He moves into chamber 2047, next to the chamber in the hotel with which he has a tempestuous past. Here he writes a futuristic story with the girl from 2046 in his mind. Chow meets the people who nowadays live in the hotel and some old acquaintances appear, but nothing can make the memories of his former love disappear.
