Movie Plot : Guinevere Pettigrew (Frances McDormand) is a governess of middle age, who doesn’t know to keep one of her jobs. She goes in search for a new job and gets into contact with Delysia Lafosse (Amy Adams), an American actress and singer. This meeting changes the life of Miss Pettigrew.

Movie Plot : Gerry Conlon (Daniel Day-Lewis) wasn’t politically active in Northern Ireland, but because of his wanderings through the city, he is suspected of being a member of the IRA. For security reasons, his father sends him to London, where he is on October 5th, 1974 when a bombing takes place. A hippie reports him and his friends as possible offenders. They are tortured without officially being charged, because now this is possible because of the new anti-terrorism law, and they become a scapegoat for the British-Irish issue.
