Movie Plot : In Bucharest, in the period before the Second World War, professor Stanciulescu (Bruno Ganz) is struck by a strange lichtflash during a thunderstorm. He gets heavily burned, but his recovery goes quickly. It appears that the flash has changed him in another man, who is much younger. He has to escape and has a period of great insecurity ahead.

Movie Plot : Romania during the last days of Communism. Otilia (Anamaria Marinca) and Gabita (Laura Vasiliu) are students; they share a room in Bucharest. Gabita is pregnant. The girls make an appointment to meet a certain lord Bebe (Vlad Ivanov) in a cheap hotel. He will carry out Gabita's illegal abortion. But Bebe refuses the money of the students and wants a favour in return.
